The visit begins at the MArRC – National Archaeological Museum of Reggio Calabria, one of the most important museums in southern Italy. Here, you will admire exceptional collections retracing the history of Magna Graecia, including the famous Riace Bronzes, remarkably preserved masterpieces of ancient Greek sculpture. As you explore the galleries, statues, ceramics and archaeological remains reveal Calabria’s rich past and its Mediterranean heritage. The tour continues with a pleasant guided walk along the famous Lungomare Falcomatà, often referred to as “the most beautiful kilometre in Italy”. Lined with palm trees, gardens and elegant buildings, this promenade offers magnificent views over the Strait of Messina, the Sicilian coastline and, on clear days, the majestic Mount Etna. You will also discover Rabarama’s contemporary sculptures, as well as several traces of the city’s ancient past, including remains of the Greek walls and visible evidence of the Roman period.
