This summer, embark on a bucolic cruise through the heart of Alsace and Lorraine, two regions rich in tradition, heritage, and timeless charm.
This delightful journey along the Marne-Rhine Canal takes you from Strasbourg to Lagarde, through unspoiled landscapes and picturesque villages. As you glide along the water, discover the rolling countryside of Kochersberg and its hop fields, the charming town of Saverne with its medieval houses, Haut-Barr Castle, known as "the Eye of Alsace", and the magnificent stained-glass window created by Marc Chagall in Sarrebourg.
One of the highlights of the cruise is the spectacular Arzviller Inclined Plane, an impressive boat lift that raises vessels 44 metres in just a few minutes. This remarkable 20th-century engineering feat turns navigation into a true spectacle, especially as your ship passes through the canal tunnels where a magical candlelit lunch awaits.
Blending Alsatian heritage, Lorraine craftsmanship, and remarkable engineering, this cruise reveals an authentic and beautifully preserved side of France. Enjoy local specialties such as traditional tarte flambée in Saverne, visit Villa Meteor, the oldest working brewery in France, and discover the artistry of the Lehrer crystal factory. Each day brings new gourmet and cultural experiences.
All excursions are included on this intimate journey aboard our boutique hotel barges with just 22 passengers on board, offering a fully immersive way to discover these distinctive regions.
Winter is no time to slow down. While our boats rest, our teams are hard at work making sure you receive the warmest welcome from your very first departure. New carpets, refreshed curtains, freshly painted interiors... every ship gets a makeover before returning to the rivers.
The kitchens are buzzing too: our chefs are testing new recipes, refining flavours, and crafting menus designed to delight your taste buds all season long. A successful cruise begins long before you step on board, and these weeks of preparation are essential to ensuring the comfort and quality you expect.
Take a peek behind the scenes of these preparations in our video.
The MS Vivaldi has the honour of opening this new sailing season! As the first ship to return to the rivers after winter, it is now setting sail on the Danube, heralding the arrival of spring at our destinations. And what a beautiful start, with bright sunshine already accompanying this inaugural voyage!
Named after one of the greatest musical virtuosos in history, this intimate 5-anchor ship perfectly embodies the elegance and conviviality of our river cruises.
Its restaurant on the middle deck serves refined cuisine in a sophisticated setting, with large bay windows that let you admire the scenery in complete serenity. On the upper deck, the piano bar offers a cozy, soothing atmosphere, while the sun deck invites you to relax in comfortable deckchairs under a spacious shaded area.
The MS Vivaldi sails along the Danube, taking you to iconic capitals such as Vienna, Budapest, and Bratislava, and even to the spectacular Iron Gates. This natural gorge, where the Danube winds between the Carpathian Mountains and the Balkans, offers one of the most breathtaking panoramas in Europe.
Some moments at sea simply take your breath away. While sailing through the Mediterranean aboard La Belle de l'Adriatique, our captain captured an extraordinary sight: the legendary volcano Stromboli erupting in the distance.
Rising from the waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea, Stromboli is one of the world's most active volcanoes and has been erupting almost continuously for over 2,000 years. From the deck of the ship, the scene felt almost surreal. In the fading light, glowing bursts of lava illuminated the dark silhouette of the island, creating a spectacular contrast between the calm sea and the raw power of nature.
Passengers watched in awe as the volcano briefly lit up the horizon, a rare and mesmerizing spectacle that few travellers have the chance to witness from the water.
Moments like these are part of the magic of cruising. Between historic cities, cultural discoveries and stunning coastlines, nature sometimes offers an unforgettable show, transforming a simple evening at sea into a memory that will last a lifetime.
Inspired to witness this for yourself? This cruise, from Naples to Sicily will sail again in December 2026, and January and February 2027, your chance to experience the Mediterranean's fiery spectacle firsthand.
