CroisiEurope inaugurates the MS Elbe Princesse

On Thursday, April 14, 2016 at 11:00 a.m., the Schmitter family inaugurated their new ship, the MS ELBE PRINCESSE, in Tegel Berlin. This is CroisiEurope’s second paddle riverboat. About one hundred guests attended the christening of the ship in Tegel Berlin, performed by Father Matthias Brühe from the Katholische Pfarrei Herz Jesu.

To symbolize the friendship between France and Germany, the company chose godparents from each country: Ms. Anke Rehlinger, minister of economic affairs in Saarland, Germany, and Mr. Jean-Claude Tribolet representing Mr. Philippe Etienne, the French ambassador.

This new paddle riverboat will cruise between Berlin and Prague on the Elbe and Vltava Rivers starting April 19. Its adapted size lets it enter and moor in the heart of city centers, allowing easy access to all the most important sites in Berlin, the emblematic capital; Potsdam and the gardens at the Sanssouci Palace; Lutherstadt Wittenberg, birthplace of the Reformation; Meissen and its porcelain factories; Dresden, the Florence of the Elbe; the natural and architectural wonders of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains; historical Litomerice; and “Golden” Prague.

With this new cruising concept inspired by the machinery of yesteryear and enhanced with ultra-modern technology, CroisiEurope has outdared navigational constraints. Unlike classic propulsion vessels, this prestigious ship can cruise the shallow waters of the Elbe all year round. To top it off, it can travel right into the center of Prague.

Built at the Saint-Nazaire shipyard, a mark of French quality, the ship measures 313 feet long and 33 feet wide and has two decks and two stern paddlewheels. Its 40 spacious cabins all face outward, can accommodate up to 79 passengers, and provide a maximum of onboard comfort: Wi-Fi, air-conditioning and heating, flat-screen TV, radio, hair dryer and safe. A panoramic-view restaurant serves all the passengers in one seating, and a lounge area with a bar and dance floor is a great place to meet up with family and friends. Chaise lounges on the sun deck let passengers relax as they watch the scenery roll by. The ship is finely decorated and perfectly in sync with the warm hospitality found on board.
